Luke Harrison has been no stranger to the stage throughout his 13 very accomplished years of life. From a young age he has appealed to audiences with his mesmerising raw talent and natural ability to captivate a crowd. His very first word at 11 months old was “amazing”and that has been the theme of his life ever since.
Luke is a gifted Singer, Performer and Actor. With an extended range, his repertoire covers Contemporary, Musical Theatre and Pop Opera Fusion.
Luke has a number of exceptional performances under his belt. On 15 April 2018 Luke sang live at the Closing Ceremony of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games alongside Australian Soprano Greta Bradman and Guitarist Karin Schaupp during the Commonwealth Games Flag Lowering and Handover. Luke also sang backing vocals for Iconic Australian Musician Archie Roach in the finale of the Closing Ceremony. On March 2018 Luke recorded the Queen’s Baton Relay Song with Music Director Katie Noonan for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony. On 4 April 2018 this song played throughout the stadium as Her Majesty’s Baton arrived and was handed over at the Opening Ceremony. Following the Commonwealth Games Luke sang live on ABCME television and shared his Commonwealth Games experience.
In March-May 2016 Luke made his professional musical theatre debut starring as Friedrich in the London Palladium Production of The Sound of Music at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC). In July 2018 Luke starred as a Lead Role in his school musical Rex and in February-March 2018 Luke performed as The Artful Dodger in Spotlight Theatres Production of Oliver. In May 2017 Luke starred in Mary Poppins The Broadway Musical performing in the lead role of Michael Banks and in January 2017 Luke won a scholarship to attend the Greenroom Project at The Gold Arts Centre and was mentored by and sang a duet with Marina Prior. On December 2016 he made his solo debut at The Queensland Performing Arts Centre singing Ave Maria with The Queensland Pops Orchestra and performed a duet with Mirusia Louwerse, the moving Pie Jesu by Andrew Lloyd- Webber. In 2015 Luke was broadcasted and performed live “You Raise Me Up” in Los Angeles. Then in 2016 he returned by popular demand to perform “The Prayer.” In 2014 Luke took the stage at The Gold Coast Arts Centre to perform in Opera Queensland’s production of La Boheme.
Luke has starred in the 2016 and 2017 Gold Coast Mayors Carols, in the 2015 Gold Coast Production of Opera in the Park, the 2014 Broadbeach Christmas Carols, the 2013 Warner Brothers Movie World White Christmas event and the 2012 Surfers Paradise Christmas Carols.
Luke has won countless Vocal and Speech and Drama Competitions and Eisteddfods across Queensland and received the highest exam mark in the State by AMEB and Trinity College of London for 2 years.
Luke is also a talented multi instrumentalist who plays the piano, cello, drums and percussion. Luke loves screen acting, dance, choir, orchestra and band and enjoys keeping active and fit with a range of sports including basketball and swimming. His Academic and Music Scholarship at his private school strengthens his well established performing ability.
Luke’s goal is to touch lives around the world with his gift of voice, music and performing. In February 2017 Luke released his first original song, called Heavens Song, which he co-wrote, along with two covers, You Raise Me Up and The Prayer. These were recorded in the United States in July 2016. In July 2017 Luke then released the music video for Heavens Song.
In October 2017 Luke was appointed Young Ambassador for the Gold Coast Charity Paradise Kids and in August 2018 Luke won the Westfield Local Heroes Award, a remarkable achievement at such a young age.
